Volunteer Training
The Healing House is a safe place where children and teens can come together to move through the grief following the death of a loved one. At the Healing House, a child/teen can cry, get angry, talk, throw things, scream and/or just sit and remember the person who died without being judged or evaluated.

A volunteer facilitator serves as a caring companion in a children’s or parents’ group. Facilitators assist; they do not direct. They follow; they do not lead.
  • Facilitators must be 21 years of age and be willing to commit two evenings a month for one year.
  • Volunteer Training consists of 2 sessions totaling 12 hours.
  • Trainees Must Attend Both 2 Sessions.
Our Summer 2010 training is scheduled for August 6 (9am-4pm) and August 7(9am-4pm) at Healing House.
